StartupBlink Blog

The Startup Ecosystem Awards by StartupBlink recognizes the achievements of startup ecosystems in StartupBlink’s algorithm, acknowledging stakeholders such as government agencies, chambers of commerce, startup support organizations, and international organizations contributing to the development of successful startup ecosystems. This year, 46 startup ecosystems were recognized.

The 2026 awards were officially presented on 23 September 2026 during ICT Week Uzbekistan in Tashkent, a fitting host given Uzbekistan’s standout year in the Index. The celebration continued with an online ceremony on 30 September 2026, where we celebrated this year’s winners with the wider global startup community and announced additional awards.

What is the StartupBlink Ecosystem Award?

The winners of the Startup Ecosystem Awards are determined through StartupBlink’s comprehensive ranking algorithm, built and refined across more than 40 parameters. This year’s awards draw on both the Global Startup Ecosystem Index (GSEI) and the Innovators Business Environment Index (IBEI).

To ensure fair and comprehensive recognition, the awards are distributed across different tiers, taking into account variables such as population size, regional influence, national dominance, and performance in specific functional categories and industries.

The celebration moved online on 30 September 2026, with two sessions to suit different time zones: 10:00 and 15:00 CEST. Across both sessions, we celebrated this year’s winners with the global startup community and announced the remaining award recipients live.

Both sessions are now available on YouTube: watch the morning session and the afternoon session, or browse this year’s award recipients in our Startup Ecosystem Awards 2026 playlist.
