world\u2019s leading startup ecosystem, it showed the lowest growth rate among the top 50 countries, at just <strong>18.2%.<\/strong> Many U.S. cities declined in the rankings, and only <strong>22%<\/strong> of the top 1,000 startup cities are now in the U.S. \u2014 continuing a multi-year downward trend.<\/span><\/p><h4><strong>Asia Pacific Records the strongest average annual growth for its startup ecosystems.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><b>Asia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Singapore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reached a major milestone, climbing to <\/span><b>4th place globally<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and overtaking Canada. The country posted a <\/span><b>44.9% ecosystem growth rate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the highest among the global top 10. <\/span><b>Singapore City<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> itself grew by more than <\/span><b>50%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, jumping to <\/span><b>12th place<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 continuing its impressive five-year rise from 10th to 4th.<\/span><\/p><p><b>China<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> followed closely with a national growth rate of <\/span><b>45.9%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>Beijing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> climbed to <\/span><b>5th globally<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, overtaking Boston, while other cities like <\/span><b>Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> each recorded growth rates above <\/span><b>30%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, cementing China\u2019s regional dominance.<\/span><\/p><h4><strong>Saudi Arabia: The biggest leap globally<\/strong><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Saudi Arabia<\/strong> recorded the most dramatic national improvement in the Index\u2019s history, climbing <strong>37 spots <\/strong>to rank<strong> 38th<\/strong>. With a growth rate of <strong>236.8%<\/strong> making it the only country to more than double its ecosystem size this year, Saudi Arabia was named <strong>Startup Ecosystem Country of the Year.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the city level, <strong>Baku<\/strong> in Azerbaijan was awarded <strong>City of the Year<\/strong>, following a <strong>47-spot<\/strong> climb and a growth rate of over <strong>40%<\/strong>, making it the fastest-growing ecosystem in the South Caucasus.<\/span><\/p><h4><strong>London Leads Europe as Regional Growth Surges<\/strong><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Europe, <strong>London<\/strong> maintained its position as the continent\u2019s top city, with nearly <strong>30%<\/strong> growth. Despite early concerns that <strong>Brexit<\/strong> might undermine the UK\u2019s innovation economy, the data tells a different story. The UK increased its lead over Israel and posted one of the highest growth rates in the global top 20 at <strong>26.3%,<\/strong> suggesting that its startup ecosystem has not only recovered but grown stronger in the years since its exit from the EU. <strong>Sweden, Switzerland, <\/strong>and <strong>France<\/strong> also performed well, each posting growth rates above <strong>30%<\/strong>. While they may not yet rank in the upper tiers, their performance in this year\u2019s Index signals potential for future impact, especially for investors, founders, and policymakers looking to engage early.<\/span><\/p><h3 data-start=\"358\" data-end=\"434\"><strong data-start=\"365\" data-end=\"434\">Colombia: Latin America\u2019s Steady Climber in the Startup Ecosystem<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"1101\"><strong data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"586\">Colombia<\/strong> continues to be one of Latin America\u2019s most consistent climbers.
