Internet has become an increasingly important resource for health information seekers. However, consumers are not provided with effective solutions and self-diagnosis interfaces. Available systems in the Web offer health information in a static way limiting the diagnosis capabilities to a small number of diseases.
Our envisioned final product is a composition of the following artefacts:
1. Interactive self-diagnosis portal that resembles a real-life patient-doctor encounter, enabling natural-language communication for health information retrieval. The focus is on simplicity, powerful reasoning engine, natural language processing in multiple languages and broad domain coverage.
2. Rich Knowledge Base generated by medical experts and information harvested through crowd-sourcing.
Data Quality will be guaranteed by medical professionals. Added value comes from the content based on user experiences and additional data covering information from diagnosis to successful treatments.
