Owning a company with dozens of outside sales people going door to door everyday it was almost impossible keeping up with what they were doing and we KNEW we were losing money because of it.
The old school method of writing everything on paper then entering it into a CRM in the evening was taking up way too much time, was inaccurate and very hard to get employee buy in. We created iCanvass to solve these problems.
The interest was so widespread from friends in other industries that we put the app in the iTunes and Google store and quickly got a couple thousand downloads with zero marketing and it opened up our eyes to how many industries and people NEED a product like this.
Being a proponent of Lean Startup, we have kept the frills to a minimum and implemented Mix Panel to get real data before we make our next move.
To take this product to the next level we need capital and potentially a co-developer with extensive programming and software development experience.
