Local search is broken, and it sucks. “Likes” and “check-ins” give users and businesses little information, and, in most cases, the data isn’t valid. babberly fixes this by tying in Facebook comments, Twitter tweets, and local babberly conversations including local merchant offers. Compelling conversation is babberly’s key ingredient. babberly aims to become the local search layer on mobile, allowing users to find relevant local search information from like-minded locals.
babberly’s platform capitalizes on this by connecting merchants to specific customers who are nearby and soon in-store (via the babberly beacon). Merchants can answer questions in real-time and – most importantly – offer real-time exclusive deals. At any given point, merchants can receive in-depth reports with detailed analytics outlining offer redemptions, check-ins and area activity.
