Zoobean is Pandora for children’s apps and books. The online platform combines the perspective of expert curators with data science to create individualized "SmartLists" based on each child's reading level and interests. It further provides tools that allow families and teachers to collaborate in building their children's literacy.
Zoobean's "SmartList" service is entirely web-based and available to families, schools, and organizations through subscription. Zoobean also offers a home delivery service through which families receive books by mail.
The company was co-founded by Jordan Lloyd Bookey, Google’s former Head of K-12 Education Outreach, and her husband, Felix Brandon Lloyd, former Washington, DC Teacher of the Year. Felix built and sold his last venture, Skill-Life, to BancVue, where it is now called MoneyIsland. Jordan is a graduate of the Wharton School and blogs for the Huffington Post.
