In the course of crude oil extraction, ~150 billion cubic meters (5,3 trillion cubic feet) of natural gas is flared or vented annually. This wasted gas is worth approximately $30B USD and is enough to meet global natural gas demand for 21 days. Flaring also releases a massive 400 m tons of (CO2) in annual emissions, according to the World Bank. We are commercializing a patented Gas to Diesel (GTD) catalyst technology converting natural gas directly into ultra-clean, market-ready diesel. Unique to our process: there is NO further refining required, such as hydro-cracking, and the main by-products are usable water and excess electricity. The diesel has zero sulfur and zero aromatics content making it one of the cleanest burning fuels available. Our diesel is usable as it is, or makes an ideal blending stock for conventionally refined diesel. VERDIS conversion units will provide a highly profitable incentive to stop harmful, and wasteful, natural gas flaring and venting.
