Timesulin is a timer enabled replacement caps, for insulin pens that people with diabetes already use, that helps the user avoid dangerous double doses. The product was launched in January 2012 and is now available in app 40 countries through big Pharma partnerships, partnerships with diabetes associations, and with a mix of carefully selected medical device distributors. Timesulin was created in 2011 to address the needs of co-founder and CEO, John Sjölund, who has been living with Type 1 diabetes since he was three years old. John wanted a simple solution that would confirm the time since he last took an insulin shot and help avoid an accidental missed or double dose of insulin. After searching high and low for a solution that would allow him to maintain his current insulin treatment program John and his brother Andreas (co-creator of Skype) decided to create a solution that would make life for him – and all other people living with diabetes – just a little bit easier.
