115 million people have spent 2.3 billion on tattoos from over 100,000 artists in the US in 2012.
Sought after artists charge thousands, and customers seek them out, much like wine collectors. The relationship between customer and artist is lifelong; like other forms of art, there are galleries, there's bragging, and there are questions of authenticity.
While tech-savvy, less than half of tattoo artists have a web presence. Something that costs thousands of dollars and takes weeks of work has barely been touched by the digital revolution. We're changing that.
We have signed up 1,200 people in 7 months, and ~30% of them are extremely engaged.
Over 220 artists have made us their home, and on average each artists tells 15 others about Tattoo Hero.
By creating a central marketplace for artists and customers to come together, we will capture 15% percent of the point-of-sale revenue and 25% of referrals.
