I am in the process of starting a Home Health Care Service company. We plan to provide skilled nursing teams for medical care in the home, including clinical assessments, wound care, intravenous therapy, chronic disease management, diabetes management, pain management, medication management, cardiac care, ostomy, catheter care and safety assessment and intervention. A doctor’s order is required to start skilled care. We also plan on providing non-medical assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, walking, meal preparation, toileting, medication reminders and car transportation. This start-up requires Medicare certification hence the relatively high start-up cost. Medicare requires around $100k stagnant in an account until the certification goes through which takes about 2-3 months. The $100k will then be returned to lender/s.
