The “IOT” of Iotera stands for the “internet of things,” which is a technical buzz-phrase referring to a time when location data on every man-made object will be available. In an IOT world, companies would never have to run inventory on products, parents would always know if their kids were in danger, and wallets would never be lost. Despite exponential improvements in technologies such as GPS, these technologies are battery draining and data intensive, making them inefficient tracking solutions for low-cost objects.
At the core of our technology is a new wireless technology that uses free wireless spectrum with a range of over 8 miles. As a first application, we are building a child tracking service that is easily attached to a backpack. We have a powerful distribution partner for this service and will announce more details in the coming weeks.
