We produce a sandwich core structure in bioplastics. This patent-pending structure allows us to use half the material of comparable products - this makes our products have approximately half the environmental impact, available at a 10-30% cost savings. We use bioplastics as our source material because they have the lowest environmental impact.
Our first product to market is a 6 gram corn-plastic based beer cup. It's slightly insulating, has 1/6th the environmental impact of a competitive cup, and is compostable at end of life.
Eventually, we'd like to use our technology to replace all oil-based plastics. We could replace 14 million tons of plastic waste in the US waste stream with 7 million tons of compost, and eliminate 7-14 million tons of CO2 emissions.
