GoComm is a communications tool for the mobile and blue collar workforce, similar to the role Yammer fills for office workers. GoComm is initially focused on teams that run large, complex events, where workers make do with a chaotic mix of radios, emails, and text messages. Other potential applications include industries like construction, resorts, security, and industrial facilities.
GoComm allows a manager to set up a private, twitter-like feed for his or her team, accessed through a mobile app. Users post problems or status updates, and tag team members on urgent messages so they get an immediate text message. There's also simple tasking and a shared to-do list, a shared contact list, and a way to share documents.
The software was first built as a result of the founders' own experience trying to manage teams while running large, complex events, including some of the largest events in the country.
