Interest in Gap Year makes us the equivalent of an elite university. We’ve had 450 applicants, and accepted 28, thus a 15% admit rate. We average 25K unique visitors/month. The dialog we’ve helped start around questioning the value and ROI of college has made earned media easy. We can already run cohorts of 20 people each 3 times per year and operate profitably. We’ve driven all this interest with zero marketing costs.
Our plan is to scale our viable alternative to college by operating an international franchise. There are people itching to open their own Gap Year franchises in Stockholm, Sao Paulo, Bogota, Paris, Toronto, and Cape Town with whom we have spoken. (We’re currently freezing these talks to focus on the experience for our January cohort). There are a dozen more people in other locations who haven't had the resources to start a conversation and who also want to open houses.
