I am an optometrist who has been in private practice for 3 years. I bought the 33 year old practice and have since had consistent growth every quarter. Now several years with experience in the industry I have become disillusioned with the current prevailing business model of high mark-ups on inferior products and poor patient care. Due to the insurance industry's control over the industry and continuous cuts in reimbursement for services. The only way for a independent practitioner to survive is to see patients in volume, which inevitably results in poor patient care, and to be mandated to sell inferior products at highly inflated prices.
I have developed a business model that allows patients to receive comprehensive eye care, and provide handcrafted, quality frames, and superior lenses without insurance companies taking advantage of the patient and practitioner. I will take care of my patients and provide the best products for their needs at a price everyone can afford
