For the first time in history, high-resolution geospatial data is becoming available at affordable rates. However, this enormous amount of accessible raw data must first be transformed into actionable information. The core of this interpretation is the identification and labeling of objects within each image. This is a prerequisite to any sort of quantification or analysis of geospatial data, and is currently very labor intensive – requiring human photo interpreters.
Ecopia Tech's platform takes the growing amount of data captured by satellites, drones, and other sensors, and interprets it as a human would, identifying objects within each image. Ecopia employs GPU-based algorithms to interpret and index this information, enabling insight not previously possible via manual interpretation (such as: quantifying global wheat supply, or counting the number of new houses in certain countries each year).
