Our data gathered from surveying 1000 collectors provides an average spend of £1800
/$2952 per year on collecting – a target of the major English speaking collecting countries
gives a population of 435m – if only 3% of those are popular culture enthusiasts and
collectors that is a demographic of 13m. We aim to build a community of a minimum of 1m
motivated collectors and enthusiasts spending and revealing their wish lists to a motivated
selling community both peer to peer and business to consumer at a 5% cut.
Star Wars – as of 2012 (pre Disney) a merchandise t/o of $23bn with combined eBay and
Amazon listings of 705,000.
Transformers – combined listings of 430,000 and as of 2010 this brand made up nearly 9% of
Hasbro’s global revenue.
Marvel – combined listings of 1m and also 9% of Hasbro’s toy
turnover. DC – combined listings of 520,000
