Our product is a wearable bracelet or badge that accurately measures the concentration of air pollutants in a users’ hyperlocal environment. This data is transmitted to users’ smartphones via Bluetooth and then analyzed in the aggregate to provide actionable insights. For example, if the air quality around a user dips below a certain threshold, he will receive notifications to take precautions such as limiting exercise or to head indoors. Further, parents of children with asthma can also receive an alert if their child is exposed to air pollutants. By crowdsourcing data through a network of these mobile sensors, we can build detailed heat maps of air quality much like Waze did for traffic data.
