Baloonr lets you anonymously share your content and ideas for review. Baloonr provides daily prompts called launchers. Users create content (i.e., baloons) based on the launchers. Baloons are anonymously reviewed by other users - they “pump it” if they like it or “pop it” if they don’t. The most pumped up baloons “take off,” appearing on the home page for all to enjoy and share.
People are anxious about social media and dissatisfied with the current offerings. The majority of those on social media do not contribute content (99%), and some are walking away from using social networks altogether for a myriad of reasons, including the anxiety of content being linked to their name. The trend toward anonymity is growing, with 41% of young adults (18-29) resorting to the use of fake/temporary account names/email addresses (pseudonymity) to be less visible online. Snapchat further demonstrates the movement toward digital freedom, particularly with the younger demographic.
