Irish people feel strongly about their charity money being wasted in questionable projects, golden salaries and transaction fees.
Altruism aims at addressing this problem by:
(1) Increasing transparency. Facilitating the identification of virtuous charities by scoring them on the level of transparency regarding their projects, their governance, their results.
(2) Reducing fundraising costs. offering a free fundraising platform to Irish charities with no hidden commission nor membership fees
We estimate that large Irish charities could save €55 million per year by using Altruism to receive donations, by cutting the funding expenses from 15% to 2%.
Moreover, small and medium charities will be able to use a powerful online fundraising platform for free, without the cost of building it or buying it on the market.
