A web-based application that helps to assess a person's risk of getting cancer, and if they do get cancer, helps to support them virtually through their cancer treatment with personalized, relevant information and resources at the point of need. Despite advances in cancer care, certain populations continue to bear an unequal burden of illness. Through our work, we aim to address both the increasing costs of cancer care and the unequal burden of cancer. Our technology-based solutions address the need to better coordinate cancer prevention, treatment and care. Individuals faced with a family history or diagnosis of cancer often do not have access to the information and resources to support them in their decision-making and treatment and care. The application was developed with ongoing input and feedback from breast cancer survivors. The application provides access to vetted websites, tailored documents, brief instructional videos and virtual visits through an easy-to-use interface.
