Having ten years experience in the seafood industry as a tuna technician and over 20 years experience in the sales industry, I was witness to a lack of marketing for Canadian and international seafood alike. There has been immense pressure put on seafood markets due to the rise in fixed costs and the weakened global economy. The Atlantic Canadian seafood industry is worth approx. 2.8 Billion dollars annually. The greatest issue that faces Canadian fishermen is getting their product to the right markets without 3-6 middlemen taking their cut of their catch. My goal in creating this business is to turn a 2.7 billion dollar Atlantic seafood industry into a 5 billion dollar industry by bringing international markets to the doorsteps of fishermen.
